I was going to call this post ‘The biggest social media mistake you can make‘ because:
- I know many of you are terrified of making a mistake on social media or ‘doing it wrong' (FYI, I'll say it again: you can't do it wrong if you follow this one golden rule!)
- I really do believe this is the biggest mistake you can make (but it's not what you think!).
But I changed my mind. Because while the “gosh, now I'm afraid I might be making this huge mistake” title might have grabbed your attention, it didn't sit right for me. I prefer to tackle problems and worries from a positive, solution-focused mindset (just ask my husband: poor guy can't complain about anything without me presenting at least three possible solutions he might try!).
So here it is, the biggest social media mistake you can make–PLUS a 3-step plan to ditch your fear of failure or “I'll-get-to-that-later” excuses and just get started.
3 simple steps to get started now
You have a passion and an important message you want to share with the world. You know there's a community of people you are meant to connect with. But won't happen if you don't get started.
It doesn't have to be complicated.
- Make a plan
- Ask questions
Rinse & repeat.
A year from now you may wish you had started today

You'll be blown away how far you can come in a year.
I’d love to hear from you
Have you been putting something off because you are afraid? How do you get out of ‘stuck-ville'?
For me I've been procrastinating on making a real, concrete plan for the next year of my business, including deciding what offerings I should put out there. Because I'm super afraid no one will buy and I won't reach my goals. But I'm putting an end to that this week. I've asked for help and I've got a session with a great business coach on Monday to kick my ass into gear!
And you? What you are putting off or pretending you are too busy for because you are afraid? Share with us in the comments below! (I read & respond to every single one.)
